Ginko: €225/night- 4 persons
Nestled on the edge of our private forest, the experience of staying at Ginko is to enjoy the wildness of nature in comfort.
Built in the traditional stone architecture of the region, this 110m sq cottage has 2 bedrooms with ensuite toilets/bathrooms, each with a bathtub. There is a large and comfortable living area, and a fully equipped kitchen, all thoughtfully decorated and furnished. It’s fitted with air conditioning and heating units, a smart t.v. with netflix, and wifi. on chilly nights, the wood stove provides a feeling of warmth and well-being.
The patio in the garden looks out to an extensive field, surrounded by woodland. Deer are regularly seen in the field, and sometimes, they grace us with a visit when they pass by the cottage. Our forest is home to a fair amount of boars, a fox (or 2), as well as an immense variety of birds. A number of hawk buzzards make their home in the trees here and it’s a pleasure to watch them, gliding majestically overhead. At night, owls call out and deer can be heard passing behind the cottage along the path that leads into the forest.
While the cottage is very private, it’s not far from the château and guests are very welcome to wander around the grounds, enjoying the views of the magnificent Gingkos, the massive Lindenflower, an imposing Yew, and a Magnolia, which is in full bloom in July. Staying here is a delight for nature lovers, and a real feast for the senses.
There’s a wooden table and chairs on the patio for eating al fresco or having drinks under the night sky.
The cottage is reached by a private driveway, and there is parking space for 2 cars.
